A natural alternative to sugar - with NO calories... What else could you ask for??
Botanical Name: Stevia rabaudiana
Common Names: sweetleaf, sweet leaf, sugarleaf
Origin: Paraguay
Form: Powder
For decades artificial sweeteners containing aspartame (also known as Equal or Nutrasweet) have been added to diet softdrinks, chewing gum and other food and beverages. There has been much debate about how safe these artificial sweeteners are, and if they are responsible for causing headaches and other illnesses.
A natural sweetener that has been used for many centuries is Stevia (Stevia rebaudiana). This green, leafy herb is sweet as candy, cheap as chips and about as fattening as a run through the park. Stevia contains absolutely no calories - so it's absolutely guilt free! Stevia is about 300 times sweeter than sugar, but can have a slightly bitter aftertaste.
Stevia has been used with success to treat many ailments including diabetes, high blood pressure, gingivitis, digestion ailments, addictions, topically for acne and other skin ailments and also as a wonderful weight loss aid.
Please be aware that this is green stevia powder which is grounded stevia leaf. It is not the white stevia powder which is a highly concentrated extract of the stevia.
