Myrrh is the red-brown dried sap of the tree (Commiphora myrrha) which is native to Africa. Used in Chinese medicine, Myrrh is described as bitter and spicy and affects the heart, liver and spleen. Myrrh is used for rheumatic and arthritic problems, and has been shown to increase blood circulation and heart rate. Myrrh has also been used for symptoms associated with menopause, diabetes and obesity.
